Religious Tolerance

If there is one thing I really can't stand it's religious discrimination. I'm starting to think that maybe I'm meant to advocate for religious tolerance, but not entirely sure how. Growing up I was raised to tolerate all religions. Also as a teenager I enjoyed learning about different religions and beliefs. Here in my country we are allowed to learn about different religions but they can't be pushed on us as here we have the right to freedom of religion. Still despite that I have dealt with my fair share of religious discrimination for not entirely believing in the mainstream religion of my country which is Christianity. Though I was raised Christian and still hold on to some of the beliefs I was brought up on I tend to believe more in Wicca and other new age stuff. Anyway how can I advocate for religious tolerance.

It is hard to believe, in this day and age, that religious intolerances exist.

Best way to advocate is to speak up!

Not really. It is the parents trying to protect their children that teach intolerance.

No I don't think it's necessarily the parents fault for religious intolerance. I think it's more people not being educated enough though the way one is raised also has to do with it. I remember growing up in a small town that was mostly protestant Christian while I was brought up more the catholic way. I hated that small town so much that I was glad when after high school I moved to the city and now I never want to live in a small town again. I like the diversity of the city here. So many different people with different beliefs that you are more likely to find people who share similar beliefs while also getting to know others point of view.

I was also brought up in a small rural area.
and everyone was Protestant...... no exceptions.
When I left home, everything changed.
For example, one Catholic Monastery would communicate as if I was one of their own.
There was one Catholic Mission where I spent time correcting them on their history which they thanked me for doing such.
and the list goes on and on with various religions.

I actually just read earlier today that my country the united states has a history of discrimination against Catholics which I find very sad. While my mothers side is catholic my fathers side is protestant and honestly I don't really see much difference between the two. Besides they are both Christian just slightly different views of Christianity. I also remember once reading that most of the united states is protestant Christian while only about a quarter of the country's population is catholic.

Not much difference between being Protestant and Catholic as far as I can see. Others will disagree.

As far as discrimination goes:
The Pilgrims left Europe because of religious persecution only to come to America and perform religious persecutions on others!

People do not realize it, but I never found a nation that does not have religious persecution somewhere it her past if not present history.

Religious Discrimination has been going on for centuries you only have to look at countries that still practice it,
to me Religion is the cause of all wars.

Yeah I agree not much difference between catholics and protestants. I would also agree that religion is the cause of most wars as well as people being stuck up and thinking their ideas are better than others. Personally I kind of like conflict for some reason. Probably the fact that I grew up on violent TV shows and also coming from a family with a military history. But then again there are some downsides to war and conflict as well I guess though I personally see more good in it such as people fighting for a cause they believing in and bringing about change. But I guess that's just me.

Been thinking seriously about becoming an Arizona Ranger. About the only main things I need is a side arm and vest. The reason: I believe they do a lot of good and I want to be part of it.

Not everybody agrees in those 'areas'.
