Home baked healthy dog biscuits

Recipe:

Cheesy Bikkies

Fine Oatmeal
A dash of olive oil
Grated cheese (or vegan cheese can be substituted.)
A little water
Cookie cutter (small)
Mix the ingredients to make a dough, then roll out about 1/2" thick, cut into shapes with the cookie cutter, and bake on very low heat until very slightly browned, Cool. ....and serve!
They are very crunchy when cool. Perfect! Humans with good teeth can eat them too.

Instead of cheese, or to make various flavours, they can be made also with
Carrots (grated)....Apples (grated) and Peanut Butter.

NO additives, carcinogens, colourings, animal derivatives or anything nasty!

(My dog used to love baking day!)

Sounds tasty Tobi ! ...........wait ! these are doggie biscuits, lol !

One Christmas I baked some doggie biscuits for a neighbor's and a relative's dog. The recipe had all regular ingredients, I mean like basic items like your recipe (without the cheese). So when they finished baking, I decided to take a taste ..... and guess what ? they tasted like a doggie biscuit, lol, no wonder the dogs were delighted with their Christmas treats

I wonder what happened during the baking to change the taste ?
Did you taste these cheesy treats you baked ? just curious ........

haha....yes I did, and the cheesy ones were ok, but the rest needed a little salt (or sugar or even perhaps cinnamon in the apple ones??) for my taste! And in a way they did taste like doggy biscuits, because they are so plain.
The secret is to bake them on such a low light that they get very crunchy (for dogs) otherwise make them like oatmeal cakes, and add seasoning (for humans)

for those with dogs, Tobi's recipe sounds like a delicious holiday treat to make for them !
