Can cats/dogs sense or see paranormal events?

I have a spare bedroom in my house where my cat's food and litter is, she's been in that room plenty of times with no issues.

One afternoon I went in there and she followed me in (she usually follows me when I'm home) and all of a sudden she became really tensed and frightened. She was hissing and showing her teeth with her ears back (never seen her act like that before), and her fur was getting poofy. Even when I went to comfort her she stayed in this manner trying to pull back from the middle of the room.

There was nothing there that I could see or feel, it just felt normal besides her acting like that. I thought maybe a bug or something was flying around but that really didn't make sense cause she always chases them in a playful manner. This lasted for about a minute and then she calmed down and stopped.

I know some people believe dogs are able to sense certain things that are just not right, maybe even a bad person, what are your thoughts on this? Have you experienced something like this before?

yes have seen cats play with things that i can not see. never seen them have a reaction quite that strong though. some believe cats protect us...

Animals, like infants, are very capable of seeing spirits. I've seen them react quite strongly to them. I once witnessed a four inch lighted orb bouncing across the room high in the air, which I was subsequently able to capture with my camera. The really interesting thing is my dog was captured in the same frame, and she is staring intently at the orb above her, clearly aware of and observing it!

In experience my they can see Spirit. Well they would because they are exactly of the same essence as we are. Look at any animal and you are looking at yourself.

Years ago, one of my cats followed 'something' across the room, out the door and down the stairs - still have no idea what he saw, lol.

One of my favorite items I ever saw on television was a study done of indoor dogs, which were filmed at home while the owner was away at work.

The study revealed that many of the dogs seemed to know when their owners were leaving work to come home, often many miles away.

I'm sure you can research this and find more information about it. It's one of the most compelling arguments that I've seen on the subject, because you could really see they somehow knew when the owners were leaving to come home, and this office exit time was varied.

It's a great study, and I'm sure relatively easy to search for on the Internet. It was at least ten years ago that I saw this, but I can't remember what network show it appeared on.
