As snappy a mantra as "Can't do it wrong!" is, I think I much prefer New Rage Guru's "everything is a growth experience." ;)

I suppose this is what happens when you're a jewelry-maker and seamstress. Small details make small errors that ruin large projects. And some things, well, you can do them wrong--but that doesn't mean there's anything wrong with that! "Everything I do is done with a purpose!"

Prepare yourself for the coming astral journey of death by daily riding in the balloon of God-perception.
Through delusion you are perceiving yourself as a bundle of flesh and bones, which at best is a nest of troubles.
Meditate unceasingly, that you may quickly behold yourself as the Infinite Essence, free from every form of misery. ~Paramahansa's Guru's Guru

I'm doing it right, would be even better because it's in the "present tense". See SK, I'm "trainable"

An affirmation would suggest a positive rather than a negative...just saying.

There may be no "right" or "wrong" and indeed something can be learned from anything however painful...however, if you're driving along carelessly and mow down 6 bicyclists by accident (as one young woman did)...well... that is an effect that most people would want to avoid imo.

That's probably because what we feed our mind, it delivers. For e.g. when you use the phrase: can't do it wrong, the mind analyzes it separately as [can't do it] and [wrong]. That is negative and negative. If we feed our mind with two negative words, it will deliver the same results to us.
My two cents...

Oh, I agree there, astroboy. I like saying astroboy, lol. REminds me of the jetsons.

I tolja shabda I refuse to grow up or I will always be a goof!

The mind will break it into smaller bits like can't do it. So, you say>>>I can do it or I can do. Or I will do it. double negatives equals negative to our subjective mind.

It's nice letting positive words into our mind, and laying off too many limiting ones the way we avoid too much junk food ... although if we're taking care of ourselves, is one 'no' or two really that scary? Really, what's far more important than the words we use is how we believe the message. How much, and how affectionately. Uncle Buddha used to tell us, words are fingers pointing to the moon. Chase the moon, not the fingers (then Bruce Lee reminded us in Enter the Dragon).

The double negative works quite well as a counter to an uncomfortable situation, as our friend who started the topic pointed out. When you screw up. When you've already acknowledged the bad, use it to your advantage. That's what alchemy is - taking the lead, turning it to gold. Otherwise we get all scared, and push those boogeyman words into the part of our mind that Jung called the shadow. Where every part of ourselves that we can't control lives. Even the psychological shadow can be a nice place, if you just trust it.

So then, do we want to fear words like can't and no, or do we want to make loyal friends with them? Even conquer them, depending on your mindset?

With that out of the way ... you know which mantras I adore? The ones that are already there. Like listening to yourself breathe. Or the hum in your ears when there's no sound anywhere. Sitting inside a cave can be like sitting in a huge shell and listening for the ocean - but it's subtle. Most of nature makes for good affirmations :)
