Lots of humans over-populate and do 'wrong' but we don't murder them, or even begin to think we have any right to.
Okay now I am going to say something everyone will hate:
How about trap, spay/neuter/release? Yes it costs something. But so would a mass killing. No guys with shotguns are going to spend all day shooting squirrels for nothing.
If people cared as they are supposed to -about ecology and the environment then there have to be vets in that camp who will spay/neuter for a small fee from government. If not -then people don't care enough and they should shut up about it.

Unfortunately Tobi, veterinarians are highly trained university educated professional people. They will not work for a small fee, they'll want a substantial fee. While your idea does have some merit its not very cost effective & this unfortunately is the bottom line when dealing with government.
