Bid to overturn the ban on fox hunting

Environment Secretary, Liz Truss, yesterday called for a return of fox hunting, saying the 2004 law banning it was a "mistake".
I trust that you will all make your views on this sick, sadistic perversion known to her in the most forceful manner possible.

I don't see how it was a mistake? No hunt has gone out of business, it hasn't wrecked the rural economy and we aren't overrun with foxes.
Only the 'ripping a beautiful, defenceneless animal to shreds' bit has gone - which would appear to be the bit Ms Truss and her ilk is pining for.
See you in church on Sunday Liz!

What next? Bring back bear baiting?! Who wants to turn the clock back, except for the bloodthirsty few who can't live without foxes being torn apart fully conscious?

But an article in the "Express" suggests that this issue will be left until after the next election, as the current balance of MPs would not support the return of fox-ripping.

I will take a look if there is any petition about this addressed to Ms. Truss. And post here if/when I find one.
There seems to be no logical reason for fox hunting. There are foxes in my area, but I have not noticed we are suddenly over-run by foxes since 2004! And I do notice the wildlife in my environment, as I and they live side-by-side.
If foxes make livestock or chickens their prey, then that is usually connected with bad management on behalf of the human in charge of the livestock/chickens. Otherwise I have noticed they mostly prey on rabbits and small rodents. They will take birds such as wild ducks, magpies and crows if they can but that is not their staple diet.

Majority of foxes in many areas are now urban. Perhaps we should limit fox hunting to Westminster and Tory MP's urban constituencies.
