Squirrel
Squirrel
I saw a squirrel
Run through the wood.
By every tree
It stopped; and stood
Ready to climb,
With its paws on the trunk,
And every time
(For no danger came)
It hurried on,
And was gone.

Hiya SG
I wish I'd taken it. I found it on google images.
My work on nature is about to come to an end and I'm moving onto a much more boring subject - people.
To keep my love of nature going, I thought I'd add a few poems (and photos) in the nature section. I have a book on animal poetry...so no doubt will be adding poetry from that.

What a lovely little poem. The image fits perfectly too. I have to say Squirrels are most probably my second favorite rodent.

A lovely photo! Here in France most of the squirrels are still red, not grey.

I believe there are still red squirrels in Scotland, but they've all but disappeared in England (where I live). The greys have taken over. I have one who visits my garden every day and hangs upside down on the nut feeder. I think they're adorable and very cheeky creatures.
