Meaning comes from fulfillment; it is really not about doing rather it is about being, and your question is existential in its nature; meaning dealing with existence. Basic existential thought deals with the capacity for self awareness, freedom and responsibility, commitment, realizing choices in the face of uncertainty, finding one’s uniqueness, and understanding your own values and passion, among other things.

When we are feeling low and unmotivated that is an opportunity to look deeper into ourselves because when in that state our masks have come off and we are more apt to be more honest with ourselves. Understand that this too is part of your particular spiritual journey, and it will give rise to another phase of that journey depending on how you utilize it. Do not suffer over your suffering rather learn from it and use it to deepen your cup.
