Time for another update :)
Lots of re-doing, correcting, adding and so on.

It's getting more and more body now!

Oh wow... It's really coming on.
I particularly love the stonework on the house and the bridge.
Plus the lights in the window look very warm and inviting.
The tree at the front is looking fantastic too.The trunk, the bark , the branches , the leaves.
Better than Bob Ross !!!!

Thank you, AngelBlue, that's a big compliment!

Come to think of it, I've never seen Bob Ross' work from before he did the "I'm a lazy painter" style, that was wonderful and helped thousands worldwide.
He did paint but I've never seen anything from that era, what it was like.

In any case, I'm also very happy with how my painting is going.
The light & misty background really makes the cottage stand out.

Couple more sessions done.
Not finished yet, but nearing the end. Lots of detail to be done and a few correction. Nevertheless nearing the end.

Goodness fairy, I can't leave you alone for 2 seconds and you're at it again LOLOL.....
Looking good girl...!
As for Bob Ross . You never saw him live back in the day ?
Oh he was amazing . Only on for half hour slots and did a full painting but they were always just trees and landscapes and couldn't believe when he brought the actual decorating brushes out and started slapping the paint on!!! I remember saying to my husband ""why did no one ever think of this before ?"" Haha

Hi AngelBlue!
Yes, I've seen him doing the show, although not so much in the 80s as I wasn't into painting then. I was in my puberty time then.
I did watch them in the 90s even though I still didn't paint yet as I had young children.
But I never forgot so when I wanted to paint with oils I went back to his tutorials.
I've got all episodes on my HD.

What I meant was, his work from before the show.
He was already a painter when he started doing the show.

Gosh the water in this painting wasn't easy. A new one on me.
In the photo above it was too bright red-orange. Then I decided to go to a normal colour, blue. I didn't like that one bit though! In a way I liked the red-orange and this was so cold and didn't seem to fit the rest of the pallet at all.

I could've soften it of course, but I decided to have a good look at the reference and go for that.
Which I did.
Warm colours, which was what I liked and wanted

I will likely do some finishing fine-tuning touches to the water, but the colour will remain the same.

Hi fairy, and you know how much I love blue but I agree the last image suits the painting , and in fact the colour in the water compliments the red flowers beautifully.
