Listening requires attentiveness to yourself. It also requires you to listen to yourself truthfully in ways more than you might perceive yourself, moment to moment. Like the continuum life is, we are that..

I think the shift you made between orders and guidance important. God guides. We create (our own reality). There is a reason for suffering and this is also in God's guidance, information. God does not force, it is about understanding and clarity and our responsibility.

There is a knowing and recognition of truth within us all. So not only does that require openness beyond what you know, moment to moment, but also acceptance of the unknown as one. Asking yourself as truth and listening as truth from within, in this way, may bring awareness differently to what your perceived ideas/beliefs have always told you.

People get stuck in their normal patterns so often not being open to explore differently is often a major contributing factor to listening differently.

the other extreme, where you aren't allowed to HAVE a normal comfort zone of being and doing, and you aren't allowed to HAVE normal patterns to get stuck in, is not a nice place to be either.

i couldn't read this thread till today lol...

there is another aspect of it, for me, beyond 'just' being open to what is happening in a way i might not have allowed before I made some sort of transition into something 'newer' (to me). There is the part, where I deliberately interact with what is happening. Put a part of my own being, my own soul, forward, into the mix, and see what happens. How it changes the states of things. How it changes my thoughts/relationships to the things.

The specific ways I go about it cause a *lot* of unrest within me but also a *lot* of opportunity to see things I never would have seen if I'd been just sitting there sopping up whatever I could of what was just being presented to me.

Is that kind of like interacting with the unknown before it happens? Like experimenting?

I understand about the unrest bit, you definitely have to allow the processors within you to move you differently as well, creation is like that, forces moving through that unsettle what is, uprooting and shedding, rearranging and renewing. We are part of creation, so natures way is simply about letting things do their thing in this way.

It reminds me of a guy on the alone series UK. He’s struggling mentally, letting his mind and process. dictate his ‘feeling’ body, ‘I don’t know what’s wrong with me, “I’m losing my mind” “I’m so bored” “I’m going nuts out here” “This is doing my head in” lol… I’m observing him mentally discuss his process, then suddenly he kills a squirrel and his feeling body leads, he’s emotional at killing to eat, also seeing these creatures suffer at his hands. At that point he then (without realisation) says “I don’t know what’s wrong with me”!

As you see because he’s not used to that level of feeling, it’s foreign and confusing to him. Yet in letting go in that moment he accessed the truth in feeling, getting out of his head. Until he made that last statement which of course is truth for him in the unknown of himself.

yeah i guess that is a common thing, to try to let feeling flow and see where it leads... and seeing what your reactions are... I kinda ended up looking at that too, because if you are looking at 'feeling' at all you can't help but see what your reactions are, what you want to get more of and what you want to avoid. And don't get me wrong, I like some of the things feelings say about how to act, kinda homey lol! But the only distance I'm willing to go down that road right now is the occasional stupid behavior.

If that was pleasant for me though and i was getting things I wanted, it would just be another place to get lost, another idea about how i might like to behave to get attached to... which is why i can know things like why god decided he wanted his wisdom to look foolish to the wise

so anyway i ended up looking deeper, trying to look beyond just what the obvious ways to relate to feelings are, to see the feelings themselves in some more 'objective' way than just as a guide as to how to relate or what goodness I can eke out of them.... so it is hard to say exactly how i interrelate to them, but, one obvious thing is back when I started I was still trying to get rid of the ungoodly ones.... and I quickly learned the only way out of that trap for me is to put my energy into 'making it worse'. Goiing in the opposite direction from that in which you wish to go in order to get there anyway apparently being a 'thing'. Anyway that is a gross example of an interaction....

probably a lot of it is similar to what eastern gurus deal with, for example the 'chi' in taoism... and there is a lot of body building nowadays as i try to clear pathways for things like that. Not so much the way people know it just I meditate on it lol...

For me it all seems suddenly new though even though it is no such thing, because I'm allowing myself the flexibility to make up my own way to relate to all this instead of trying to fit myself into the various molds that exist in the outer world...

but yeah it is a lot of experimenting. And for me, there have always been moving targets so it is never possible to settle into a single way of being... anyway turned into a way to learn to be more in touch with what is actually happening in and around me instead of trying to pre-program my responses.
