It's quite possibly a part of your ego having a tantrum if you're practicing coming from a more conscious place on the whole, or it might be some resistance within you associated to some emotion that's trying to be released. I wouldn't give it too much thought and simply allow these fits of rage to come and go without judgement towards yourself. Just try having these fits alone and not taking them out on others.

It has been known for me to purposely go out and drive in my car and scream for a while to release some tension

It's quite a good thing you're experiencing these fits of rage as it shows something is shifting, or wanting to shift within, and not being buried deep down like most of our emotions :)

Be kind to yourself :)

Emotions are messages your inner self gives you about your thoughts. A negative emotion means your current thought isn't in harmony with your life's purpose. You still have the free will to think, and do, whatever you want, but your inner self warned you.

Definitely you should be concerned about your anger attacks! They can push you do things you'll regret!

It's good to see this, Jelle. Try not to be scared of it. It means it is no longer shut up and repressed. The next trick is finding a way to harmonise it, and not let it run amok like a wild thing.

But what inavalan posted is also useful. There may be some disharmonious factor in your life which is causing this. You can thank that thing because it has shown you something helpful and so is acting as a teacher. But it doesn't mean it is right for you to always accept and live with....whatever it is. Can you trace it?
Try not to project "blame" onto anything or anyone while doing that trace. It's just a trigger which shows you your emotions.

Being consciously aware of our emotions and shadow-selves is not a bad thing. But to let those aspects dictate to us, and control our lives in an unpredictable way is not wise of course.

Jelle, if you seriously sense that it IS something paranormal....which isn't impossible of course....then a very good Medium / Spiritual Healer may be able to help you. But you would have to find the right person.

Its just an out of control mind. but also one that knows it can get away with it. Imagine this scenario. You are with a really tough guy, a connor mcgregor type- scary tough. And would the same little things that set you off being angry come out so easily, if he was the object of the anger? I realised that I used to get angry when it was convenient, but if I had something to lose (like the admiration of a girl or my teeth in the connor example) then somehow I was able to hold my anger in check. When I realised this I understood my anger was a choice and I just needed to control my self better.

it can be hard to identify exactly where that anger really starts. Your first step into a long term fix is to identify the root of the anger. Then deal with that.

You could try meditating on it and if it comes up ask "Why are you hear?" If an answer doesn't come up see if any other emotions come up.

maybe you've resolved the issue already Jelle, since your original post
was made some weeks ago [?]. i'll mention an idea anyways, in case it
might help someone else out.
there exists a thing called "angst", which is an emotional feeling of dread
which doesn't seem to have any particular 'trigger' involved. it's as if there
were an unattached emotion traveling through our collective energy field,
and it seems to become attached to some of us at various times. i'm thinking
that your bouts with anger might be a similar phenomena.
maybe you're just receptive to that anger for some reason.
perhaps if you can recognize that it's not belonging to you, you can release
it's hold... in fact, if you were to welcome it's visit gladly, that might serve to
redirect it's energy into something more 'positive' for you. perhaps it was
designed as a means to provide you with some 'empowerment', but if you
fight against it, it becomes enraged (and destructive?).
