Meditation does nothing for your mind.. to grow your mind you have to do some thinking. Problem solving. Example.. ask yourself who is God? I saw him in the Shroud of Turin.

you used the words sell, and how to profit. These are the machinations of the ego, the part of you that operates on the physical realm.

meditation is about going deeper than the physical. Meditation is not about profit or gain of anything physical, its about gaining knowledge and insight into who you are. your flaws, your strengths, what you need to work on, what your greater purpose is in the world.

and most of all, peace. meditation will bring you peace if you do it right. Essentially you are sitting down with yourself and having a talk with yourself.

Maybe you are like me and when yuo first sit down you find that you hate yourself. Not everybody gets to find a beautiful person when they first look deeply into their self. Regardless of what you find, you have to stick with it, you have to stick with yourself. and get yourself out of whichever hole you've dug for yourself this time around.

by the way, if you persist you will never find hatred for very long. Hatred and negativity is just surface level stuff that you need to be aware of. Just being aware of it will begin the process of its dissolution. Just be present, and be open to yourself, to whatever your inner self wants to bring to your attention.

also, there are like 1000 types of meditation. the most common are concentration, contemplation, and open monitoring. best not to categorize all of them under one term as they all have specific uses and benefits

These are my current thoughts about it:

You develop, by letting your mind be quiet.

That's it.

Why ? Because there is a higher wisdom.
When you think, you are (usually) preoccupied with the Troubles and Joy's of this world.

That there is something higher, most people do not know.
That they are able to think like Einstein, Tesla (to name few), most of them do not know.

Moreover, when you want to think on your own, your ego may deny the higher thinking.

That's the secret.

Edit: (i wanted to add this too: )
That there are ways, which human mind does not know of, is revealed by meditating. (you have to be interested in meditation, tho)

Reaching higher states of happiness. This, in turn, may change the reality which you experience.

it's a good thing, and it can be looked at in different ways, but there is fundamental facet of it which is the conscious awareness of what is going on right now. it is strange how people are conscious but also unaware of their real lived experience 'as it is' as they have a lot going on in their heads and they tend toward reacting to what they experience rather than just being conscious of it, like, 'this is how it is'. if we can just notice the real lived experience just as it happens to be, without wanting 'something else' or being adverse to the way it is, then the mind is observant and aware of the real lived experience just as it is. hence if the mind is noisy you are aware of it as such without any notion whatsoever that it should be quiet, and you can simply notice that mind is noisy without reacting to that state of mind. if we could cease to react to the lived experience 'as it is', and just let it be be the way it happens to be, all the other nonsense involved in the perpetual struggle of trying to 'make it as I want it to be' can be left behind - and that's probably the more fundamental aspect of what we call meditation.

Transformations that come from meditation are surprising, because your awareness is expanding in experiencing beyond the realm of the surface mind - and its preconceptions - where we generally hang out and use as our identity.

Meditation in inner silence gradually raises the vibrational frequency of the body-mind in all its aspects.

There is no area of your life that is not touched by this, increasing as your practice continues and deepens.
