Meditation question
I was just wondering if anybody knows why this happens to me during meditation. I would feel as if my breath is being controlled randomly by the bottom of my stomach, as if it takes over once I relax and concentrate. I dont force myself to breath I just tune in and it comes up with various breathing techniques, very random patterns from deep to light etc... It almost has a mind of its own. Thanks for the help!

How often do we really consciously monitor our own breath? For the most part breathing, along with various other actions like blinking or walking is regulated without constant control/interference of the conscious mind over every detail and aspect.

It doesn't disturb you, right? After all, our breathing is automatic - a part of the involuntary systems in our bodies. Sounds pretty cool.

As long as it is happening spontaneously, and it is not something you're trying to do consciously, then I wouldn't worry about it. All kinds of experiences can come up in meditation. Most are the result of purification.
Only in the case where it is very uncomfortable or frightening, then you should gently come out of meditation and wait until you feel OK again. Most of the time, purification experiences are just something you might notice. Very easily come back to your meditation practice.
