Organ donor

Was thinking about organ donors today and was just wondering if anybody knows or read anything about it from a spiritual point of view? Should we or shouldn’t we.

I have not read anything about organ donation in spiritual literature, but I would be reluctant to donate or receive any organs.

Mainly because any organs received would still have the aura of the previous owner, which makes it a bit of a lottery.

And any organs donated by me would still have my aura which would then become mixed with the aura of the recipient. I am not sure if I would want this.

Peace

Organs have an elemental intelligence at least and may have connected a higher intelligence.

There are accounts of a transplant radically changing the recipients preferences - e.g. changing from reading Mills and Boon to reading 19th century Russian authors

I have not read any spiritual lit, either.
I offered a kidney a few months ago to an old friend --I was not a match.

It is a good subject, something to really think about. There is energy, cell memory of the original 'owner' embedded in the cells and tissues. Apart from their own things, also from their bloodline etc. etc.

Now one wouldn't go for a donor organ unless their life is at stake, so I think most would accept it regardless of any other thoughts & ideas.
I guess a good spiritual person could work on it to heal it as much as possible if need be.

There's also the thing that it's a-natural, against our otherwise perfect design. Otherwise our bodies could accept an alien organ without issue, but as it is it means taking meds the rest of your life to prevent rejection.

When Christiaan Barnard did the first public heart transplants he used pig hearts. Were there any psychological studies done of the recipients during their short survivals?

Why were pig hearts suitable? That is a deep question if humans actually evolved from apes.

It's a very personal choice.

There are religious people and atheists alike that are pro-donation. They do it to help others and because you die the organs no longer matter. I have read things about organ donation though that would make me think twice about becoming a donor. Don't wanna mention it here.

When my country changed to opt-out system, I quickly turned it down to get 'no donor' status. I personally believe part of our consciousness can remain here because of the body, even more likely so in case of functioning organs in another person's body. I find it unsettling.

I have heard some say that the donated organs function better if there's a connection between the receiver and the donor.

It's a fascinating topic. People can develop new talents, from the donor.

By that logic humans are more closely related to pigs than apes, which of course is false.
Bats and bugs both have wings, yet bats are closer related to squirrels than bugs.

I'm sure you can find an answer to your question with a search.

I remember once picking this ethical topic of xenotransplantation back in school, but don't recall the ins and outs any more.

Thank you all of you for responding I really appreciate it.

Just about everything you have all stated is what resonates with me also.

I think Altair hit the nail on the head about leaving part of our consciousness here. That was the thing that worried me but didn’t realise it until I read your comments. I wonder if we do and how could we find out?

Personally I would love to give every healthy organ to someone if it saved another life, especially to kids.

Yes I know that every organ has intelligence and memory and I have heard that people who have donated organs take on different tastes/likes etc from donors. Quite fascinating really.

I hope other people here respond so we can get more views on this topic.

Thanking you all.
