What is Moksha/liberation?

Hello dear forum fellows,

What is your perception of the term Moksha / liberation?

My perception of Moksha till now is - when one realizes one's true nature i.e. when one awakens to advaita (non duality) then one attains moksha.

When one realizes or awakens to one's true nature. Yeah.

Prepare yourself for the coming astral journey of death by daily riding in the balloon of God-perception.
Through delusion you are perceiving yourself as a bundle of flesh and bones, which at best is a nest of troubles.
Meditate unceasingly, that you may quickly behold yourself as the Infinite Essence, free from every form of misery. ~Paramahansa's Guru's Guru

My perception is,
When One's seeking/desire for 'anything' (or attachment and aversion to 'anything'/'anyperson'/'anyplace'/'anysituation') comes to an end, and so ending of sorrow, that is Moksha.

Libration from chains ie cravings / desires (narrow selfish limited material ).
And why liberation - because it is self sustaining , ever lasting , independent .

While moksha/liberation is great and people who have attained it are venerable , there is long route for us through desires and cravings to be sublimated . So for mundane people like me it's very difficult sort of last stage whereas many stages before that are yet to be cleared .

Also moksha is more a duality concept , truly non-dual people may already have that moksha/liberation due to intense association to non-dual .

Saying that moksha is realising one's true nature or moksha is freedom from desire and attachment or moksha is freedom from samsara (the cycle of death and rebirth) may all be true.

But these all seem to be different ways of talking about moksha without actually describing what it means in practical terms for the individual who has attained liberation.

So in practical terms I would suggest that moksha means knowing the Self to exist as limitless unchanging Being.

Peace

Peace

Thanks for bringing this up about practical terms.

In practical terms, I would suggest that Moksha is "not affected (both in positive and negative manner) of any actions/things/persons/situations happening".

Just to live like one is sleeping - acting in a sleepy manner.

Thank you.

True nature = the Self existing as limitless unchanging Being...

Moksha is the experiential emancipation from all doubt.
