Lilies DEADLY for cats!
There is an article in The Daily Mail March 8th (UK) which warns about Lilies, that they are deadly for cats, and even if the cat just brushes against the flowers, gets pollen on its fur, then licks the fur, that can cause severe illness, and death. It affects their kidneys.
Many common lilies have this toxin:
TIGER LILIES
RUBRUM LILY
EASTER LILY
JAPANESE LILY
I thought I'd post this warning. Take care kitties!

Yes, apparently there are sometimes warnings on labels saying something like "lilies are toxic to cats if eaten"....so people will think "oh that's ok, because my cat won't eat them" so it's not too bad....
But apparently not. Even the pollen is highly toxic. The lady in the Daily Mail news item lost all 3 of her cats, one was 1 year old, one 5 and one 17. They hadn't eaten the flowers, just got pollen on their fur and licked it. She didn't know about this. The flowers were a Valentine's Day present.
