Why Giving Tithe To The Church Is Not A Necessity

I still don't understand why some churches force their members to pay tithe. Meaning, giving a 10th of your income. What does the Bible say:


“Woe to you, experts in the law and you Pharisees, hypocrites! You give a tenth of mint, dill, and cumin,*yet you neglect what is more important in the law – justice, mercy, and faithfulness!*You should have done these things without neglecting the others" (Matthew 23:23).

2 Corinthians 9:7: Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give,*not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

I don't see why the church needs money at all, just as I don't see why it/they need assets and accountants. That's not living as the birds in the field.
