The Sufi Master Hazrat Inayat Khan, under whose son I practiced for some time, defined the soul as "energy loaded with consciousness". That is the definition that I also use and it seems very consistent with what you just wrote so concisely and precisely.  |

the soul is really what ever you believe it to be their for unique to every individual
my soul is the connection to everything and teaching me things all the time
that's me my soul is limitless |

The soul is the part of us that records all of our activities throughout our incarnations, it follows us from one body to the next and is the aspect of us that holds our various spiritual bodies. The soul does not animate the body, it is not the spark of life, of the divine within us, that is what the Hindu`s call the Atman.
The Atman leaves when we die, returning only when we reincarnate. The soul and atman do not have gender, that is a human condition.
