Killing me softly
I have come into contact with many forms of tai ji chuan over the years, though I have yet to master any of them, nor would I wish to, since generally I am against violence.
The one that gets me into most trouble is Chen style which is most famous for its explosive jing energy.
I first acquired it at an official branch of the Songshan Shaolin Temple in the UK and have been trying to distance myself from it ever since.
I am mindful of the line in the film the Prodigal Son about teaching martial arts to rich kids, as they always end up picking lots of fights. It is probably true to some extent, but rich and poor are more alike then most people think.
Gong Fu serves a spiritual purpose, as does propaganda,
Just what purpose, I still don't know, the difference between chan and zen perhaps?
