I've seen pictures of people riding cows with tack.

I haven't seen birds on horses but I've seen cats sleeping on horses's backs.

Calf riding was sorta interesting.

A cow would have a calf and it was my job to bring both of them back home. Being the calf was a new born, I put the calf around my neck and walked home with the Mother cow in tow.

Sometimes, the calf had eaten from the Mother and when the calf was around my neck, would have to go potty. I must say, showers, back then, really came in handy.

horse tangle

horses legs are confusing to me in terms of drawing them
what goes where
and gait logic too
ugh!
(any good anatomy pictures floating around????)
i can never get these things right
or the rest of the horse!
as you see I made a mistake and tried to cover it with a stupid bush
during pandemic the horses have been moved so I can't go sketch them
I have to rely on my memory and internet
these legs are so fast and powerful
delicate too
and they seem to express so much of the horse's personality
the horse
one mass of muscle!
and lots of attitude!
love them!!!

You asked and you shall receive

I believe this is what you're looking for. I skimmed through the site and she seems to really know how to draw compared to a couple of other sites I skimmed through. No wonder you got fed up with the net!

https://monikazagrobelna.com/2019/09...o-draw-horses/

Once you get good at drawing circles and lines, I believe you'll see that on live horses.

Oh just about forgot about gaits. For the walk, it has four beats and the hind feet are placed either where the front feet were or behind them. The trot has two beats and the legs work opposite of each other. For example, the right front and the left hind close in together with the left front and the right hind spread apart. When the legs switch position, the rider feels the horse move up and all four feet are off the ground. If the right front and the right hind move in sync, the horse is pacing. You see that in harness racing. If the horse canters, that's a three beat rhythm and the rider might feel a rocking chair motion. The gallop is a four beat rhythm as seen in Thoroughbred racing. The motion the rider might feel is a forward and back.

Good luck!

Wow - you never disappoint Chrysalis! This is awesome! Thank you!
I don't know what a beat is but sounds interesting.

This is so cool! (I guess I have no excuses now)
