Question Tattoos

Hi,

What do you think about tattoos? Do they have any spiritual meaning? I'm thinking about being a tattooer but am from very catholic and conservative family. And the main thing that comes to my mind when thinking about tattoos is holocaust. And wonder do they mean something, spiritually. Or this is just another way of expression?

Hi.... I Love tattoos.
And yes, they can have a very spiritual meaning to the bearer.
Also, Pope Francis is all in favour of them !!!!

Yeah im not the one to ask either......not a fan of tattoos.. particularly on woman.

Putting a tattoo on a beautiful woman is like putting bumper stickers on a Rolls Royce.....you just dont do that!

Lucky 1 ..... Is it ok to put a tattoo on an ugly woman then ??
LOL....
Only joking, there is no such thing as an ugly woman.
Unless of course you think she becomes ugly because of the tattoos !!!.
I know a lot of men share your opinion.

I just love art and I think, if done properly and tastefully , tattoos can be very beautiful. I've seen some quite stunning ones.

( Don't know if it's true, but I heard that inked skin does not rot away after burial . Can you imagine if you had all your body covered in them !! )

Not a fan.

There are other ways to decorate yourself and let others know something about you, such as necklaces and necklace hangers, armbands, clothes etc.

Not a fan. Son had a small 'OM' tattoo, that was OK. Then he added things around it and made it large. I simply do not like that. Hope elder grandson does not go for a tattoo. By the time the younger one reaches the tattoo age, I would perhaps not be around. He is 12.

Many cultures use tattoos as a spiritual connection. There are Native American Tribes that were tattooing long before the first European stepped foot on the continent. The Aborigines in Australia are another society that have tattooed. Tribes in Africa. The tribal tattoos of the Hawaiian islands also come to mind. The traditional tattooing of the Samoa culture goes back a couple of thousand years. The Aborigines in Australia are another society that have a long history of tribal tattooing.

We have a Hindu sect which tatttos the name of their chosen God, Lord Rama, on all parts of their body. Their clothes also have the same name. They are known as Ramnamis.
