I dunno. But for me, I read Mirabai and Tulsidas, Sudas, Kabir, Hafiz...
the lovers of God.

Then, though he taught Kriya Yoga, how to exp God directly, I've never heard such beautiful
devotional words then from Paramahansa Yogananda....
and Ramakrishna was all about love of the Holy Mother.

I just deleted a bunch ---cuz you only asked about books...lol.

Prepare yourself for the coming astral journey of death by daily riding in the balloon of God-perception.
Through delusion you are perceiving yourself as a bundle of flesh and bones, which at best is a nest of troubles.
Meditate unceasingly, that you may quickly behold yourself as the Infinite Essence, free from every form of misery. ~Paramahansa's Guru's Guru

try the great Swan by Lex Hixon. Its isnt a guide book, but its a beautifully written book about Ramakrishna, a devotee of Ma kali. It teaches about Love and bhakti worship and is one of the most wonderful books I`ve ever read.

Another book about the nature of devotion and living the right life, is the Longest Journey by JB Bennett, about the life and methods of Shiva Puri Baba one ofthe few biengs ever to truly have achieved Moklsha.

Most, if not all, of Prabhupada's books come back to talking about bhakti.

I remember Ram Dass talked about it a lot, too, but it has been so long since I read his books, I couldn't suggest specific ones.

This might be too obvious to mention, but bhakti will come naturally from story scriptures.
The Puranas are intended to inspire devotion.

I'm curious about what you were going to say.

I want to add Lalla and Akka Mahadevi to the list of poets.
Mira is my favourite, nobody can mess with her.
