The battle between good and evil

It's an eternal battle which can never end because it can never really be won by any side isn't it. Because both sides are two sides of the same coin which is existence, two terminals of the same battery which powers life, they're both a part of creation and existence. Fighting in the battle you can cultivate "merits" but fighting to destroy or erase one or the other side from existence is always gobna lead to failure because God won't use one of its arms to sever the other. Another way to look at it is a dance between light and dark.

Good and evil are judgement concepts which are popular in orthodox religion.

Those spiritually inclined try not to be so judgemental e.g. seeing things so clear cut/black and white. Understanding reveals shades of grey. With understanding comes compassion rather than condemnation.

We can consider good and evil as a horizontal duality where we cannot have one without the other.

But we can also consider good and evil as a vertical duality, where good is the upwards tendency towards Spirit and evil is the downwards tendency towards materialism. In this duality our challenge is to aspire upwards towards Spirit and overcome the downwards gravitational pull of materialism.

Peace

It's an eternal battle because people eternally can't get past their judgements and mentality, frankly. Both good and evil are judgements and they have been created by people who judge and don't look beyond the very thin surface veneer of what's going on.

If you want to understand the battle between good and evil, ask yourself the reasons you wrote that post.

We can also look at as good being the inward movement to truth, unity and unconditional love for all, and selfless service to others, and evil being the outward movement towards illusion, separation, fear and selfishness. Or good being following the heart, evil being following the mind. When fighting for truth, there can appear forces both within ourselves and without which fight against it making it appear like a battle. But maybe it only appears that way when you "fight" for it.

I see there are lots of "lightworkers", when I listen to what they say, they often describe it as a battle between light and darkness. I have great respect for these people because I know how hard it is to live in that mentality, to be in a constant struggle and battle between light and darkness. The forces within ourselves which fight against awakening or whatever it is, they're aspects of ourselves so being at war with them is a sad place to be because thats a war with ourselves and a war that can never be won.

Embracing all existence with love is the way I choose to go because thats the harmonious way, but like I said I have great respect for anyone fighting for love. Thats something worth fighting for. But fighting isn't the way love does things. Love accepts and embraces. Maybe the battle only arises when one severely underestimates the true power of love. Then it can seem like maybe a wounded puppy dog that needs to be protected against the forces of darkness. I can see how it could appear that way if you have not yet seen what an unhindered, unfiltered tsunami of unconditional love from within feels like. Why would something powerful beyond all measure need to be protected. But its still so lovely that someone would want to fight for love. Its something worth fighting for.

Though good and evil are 2 sides of the same coin , there certainly is need for orientation towards good . Without such orientation and energy in the direction , there can no meaningful progress - individual / group.

Though God wont use one of its arms to sever other , he would certainly use his fingers on one hand to heal a wound / boil on the other hand. Like what you yourself said in last post there are something always worth fight for.

And therein lies the problem. Truth is unique to us all. No universal truth exists outside people other than the ecology itself as part of the cosmos overall - and it's beyond human scope to perceive the meaning. Unconditional love? Yes it can exist but it's rare. Some conditions are usually hidden underneath it. A blanket "unconditional love for all" is only viable if everyone around you reciprocates - or you run the risk of being drained. If people presume on you, use you etc., then as strong as you might be it'll wear you down in the end. Benevolence, kindness, politeness are too often treated as signs of weakness these days. Plus there are too many criminals around ready to take advantage of the weak. (for example, you see reports everyday about romance scams and people losing huge amounts of money.)

So as an ideal it's fine; worth keeping among one's higher principles, while realising in practice it isn't attainable in the mundane world. I agree with others here: the difference between good and evil is a matter of viewpoint.

The generation is in the dark/light age
..where coinciding in both naturally —- a reminder to seek both methods are well endorsed and in endowment... an expedition from the theory’s we're dealing with... still we are successful and hurried through classics.. while our souls battle reincarnation and deal with passing events, pain and expiration: lasting through the light or passing darkness to our passing of light and perception’s that are in the creative-creator light ; through the matter and acting field..looking to be versatile and ambitious creating ambience and sunshine!

Really we live in the dark age where we are passing and not fully plugged in..matter of the fact would be the matter and positive through the throughout—-while we are trying to be more ‘plugged in’ and driving the account and avatar through to the generation of pleasant...I couldn’t think pregnancy of both pains and pangs that are with us —- it’s astonishing how much we have to dream with to live/ it’s the first things that comes to mind...
