The Tower of Babel is said to have its roots in Sumerian mythology and goes back to the dissent between Enki and the other Annunaki. Other sources say it's a metaphor for.... Well, here are are folks.

I just share what i found interesting. And i allways name my sources, cause i don't want to present the knowledge of others as mine.

I'm sure that the same content under a different name, would have a different impact to some folks here. It's just how our ego operates.

Fake is falsely claiming that what you write is your own experience when it isn't. Simple. That's dishonest, duping the public and plagiarism!

(Apologies to Lomax who sees questioning the authenticity of Lobsang Rampa's work is, apparently, off topic. I was answering a question that was raised here.)

Are we in any position to judge whether Lobsang Rampa was a fake? The books were written by Cyril Hoskin, a plumber in the west of England who had never been to Tibet, so it is not surprising that he was regarded as a charlatan. But he claimed to be a Tibetan lama who had taken over the body of Cyril Hoskin with the agreement of the original owner. Is such a thing possible? In occult terms it is certainly within the bounds of possibility, so I have no problems with accepting that this could be true.

We simply do not know, so all we can do is consider the information provided in the books of Lobsang Rampa. There is much there which is valid in terms of spiritual/occult philosophy and practice. At the very least, they are a good read and they have inspired many people to investigate these matters more deeply.

Peace

Yes I don't dispute that his books were good reads (I read them too way back then) and inspirational. It depends how much store you place on authenticity and truth..... It matters to me and many others!

There shall be clairvoyance and telepathy as there was before the so called,(miscalled), Tower of Babel, in which through abuse of special powers mankind lost their telepathic abilities for the time being. The whole story is given in the Bible, but it is in the form of a story. Actually, Man was able to communicate with fellow Man and with the animals, too, but through treachery to the animal world, mankind was deprived of telepathic communication and so there was the utter confusion of people trying to converse in what were local dialects, and which in time became the languages of the world.

Having witnessed some miraculous abilities of enlightened masters and yogis, I am open to the suggestion that there may be telepathic abilities which were natural to mankind at an earlier age.

With growing corruption and psychic pollution of the planet, it is possible that such abilities were lost with time.

The various dialects and languages had brought about greater strife around the world due to linguistic chauvinism and anchoring of tribal identities.

lol, so there should be no conflicts whatsoever when people speak the same language..
So no crime exists if criminals speak the same language as their victims!

I have read the works of Rampa/Hoskin and do not consider his statement that he was a tibetan lama as a false statement necessarily.

It is valid in terms of spiritual/occult philosophy and practice as you put it. I know of a couple of other such incidents as well. It is hard for most people to digest it though who have no idea of the occult and so on.

Rampa/Hoskins definitely have a lot of insights to yoga and the occult. I enjoyed reading his works and found them entertaining and informative in terms of a historical perspective. But I do not consider him to be enlightened though.

I don't want to imagine what would happen if everyone had telepathetic abilities. Most likely we would kill each other sooner or later. Our egoic nature is very strong,no matter how hard we try to hide it.
