The inevitable fate of "forwards only" reincarnation, if that's the only choice

I've already made a post explaining my concern about reincarnating forward in time and I still stand by what I said. It would be make me very sick if I was doomed to only go forward in time and wasn't given a choice to go back. I feel like the more advance our technology gets, the worse we become as humans. I couldn't even imagine how bad it will be in just 2 or 3 decades from now! I've heard stories that by 2045, man will become one with the machine. I don't like that one bit, that sounds very SCARY! It's like everyone would become like Inspector Gadget or Sari Sumdac from Transformers: Animated. I don't know if anyone has seen those cartoons but I know what I'm talking about. I just hope one can go back in time. Even if you cannot physically do it while you're still alive, I assume you can in the spiritual plane. What would be stopping you from doing that? There's no laws of physics for the afterlife.
