Their-Eye Chakra Gemstone meditation

It was my first time meditation with Lapis Azuli on my Third-Eye chakra.
The stone got really hot (much hotter than the temperature of my hand) and left a big red spot on my forehead for about 20 minutes after the meditation.
Has anyone had a similar experience?
I would appreciate you insight.
