Wink The Surreal Cliffhanger Tale........

Hi - I thought it would be fun for us all to use our writing and imaginative skills on this never ending story.
Keep it clean and legal (else it might be pulled).

Here's how it works - you just add part of a sentence (or one and a bit sentences) to the last post
BUT you must end it with a cliffhanger word, i.e. yet... suddenly.... he/she said.. when...so.... but....
you get the idea. This cliffhanger word acts as a catalyst for our imagination. Resist the urge to type too long a passage since it loses its punchiness. So here goes:-

On entering the park, he sighed with relief; he was just about to take in the view when suddenly.......

he fell of a cliff.... but at the last moment his clawed, liver spotted hand caught hold of a tree root. His body jerked to a halt, and after a few moments his swinging body came to rest dangling thirty feet above the ground, as he opened his fear closed eyes, he saw

his watch had stopped, and a large rat was chewing on the tree root, so he thought....

before he could yell out in agony, an enormous tsunami washed over them both and dragged them out to sea! Amidst the whirling waves there was...

floating debris and some thin wooden planks. With urgency he clung to the wood for support and, then was quite suddenly....

embraced and lifted up by a fluttering guardian angel. Filled with rapture he merged into golden light. THE END

Someone else can start a new story now.... (or I may start another story eventually)

(the other option being that this thread subsides ever back into the index -
perhaps it would have been seen more in the lounge section)
