The perception of time

This has been one of the most fascinating things to me. The way "time" is in our hands given that we can speed it up or slow it down, internally.

When one hour passes so slow that feels like ages, and when hours turn into minutes.

The same can happen during meditation, you can meditate for hours and feel like you just started meditating or you can meditate for a short time and feel like you have been meditating for hours. Or during astral projection when minutes can turn into hours, hours into days, weeks, months or even years.

I've always wondered how can we consciously control this.

What I noticed and probably you have noticed is that when time passes really slow, there's a certain stillness experienced within, and when it passes really fast, it feels like everything is rushing.

Scientifically, as much as I know, in layman terms, when one gets really close to something extremely heavy, like for example a black hole, times slows down for the one being there, even though the rest of the universe keeps moving with the same "speed".

What's your opinion of this? Have your ever been able to consciously control the "perception of time"?

In my opinion time is a perception. I took a nap and when I woke up I looked at a wall clock in my home and thought it was 7a.m., so I started to act like it was early in the morning,
only to later learn that it was 7p.m., which changed my whole perspective. I thought it was the next day when actually it was still the same day.

I embrace that time is circular and it is measured by distance. Scientists believe that nothing comes out of a black hole, and yes, the closer you get to it the slower time becomes.
A black hole is believed to be a singularity; it sucks everything into it. It is an unimaginable massive event.

Time goes fast or slow for me when I pay attention to time, when I am not paying attention to time it can fly by. But when I sleep it may feel like I have been asleep for hours but
usually it is a lot less than I may feel it has been. Sleep tends to take us out of time. As a retired person I try not to be controlled by time, although the aging of my physical body
is unmistakable.

Time goes faster when you have deadlines, and I think deadlines are important because there's much to do and your life-span is finite. That suggests the reality of time, like, nothing lasts forever. It also accelerates as you age. A year goes by fast!

is unmistakable.

Happened to me many times. I once went to sleep in the afternoon and woke up shortly and thought it is was the next day, in fact, it took me quite some time to even remember who I am. A few times this happened I freaked out, now this only happened as a child and not so much as I grew up.

Yes, I think so, time is a perception. I've been looking to "control time" In deep meditation I can go back in time, in my time, so to say, when I reach the time I was a child, then there's nothing beyond it, just blackness. I can go through the recent years, high school, child hood but not deeper than that, in fact I've reached the time I was in my mother belly, it felt warm and secure. Going "further" than this, just blackness.

Our lives can be broken down in periods of time, and each period has a unique taste, a unique flavor that best describes it, by resting in this unique flavor I am pulled back in that time frame, that's how I do it.
