I woke up this morning to Beautiful chanting yet Haunting I couldn't stop listening to it The man chanting appears somewhere that I happened to be
They introduced him as Steve,
he looked at me then started Chanting, yet I felt a feeling of Familiarity about him it was as if I knew him,
I have heard Chanting before but this was Beautiful.

Sounds like you were in a hypnagogic state there Native spirit.
In my experience - during hypnagogia and through telepathic connection (with the living) one can have auditory experiences with names of ‘things’ clearly coming through …
*
I came to a chant on the YouTube about the same time as you. This chant however sounded a bit ‘cheesy’ to me like a New Agey Amerind “knockoff”, nothing really Saami about it. Yet I ended up liking it and couldn’t stop listening to it.
Talking about cognitive dissonance problems here I suppose.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yWsp...%C3%A4ll gren
But then again, perhaps the singer, as he is getting older, is perhaps feeling his Colombian Amerind roots - wishing to reconnect with them and express them. So I shouldn't judge.
But then again on the other hand - besides hypnagogia and telepathy with the living - has any spirit actually ever called you by your name? Or stated their name?
I have never experienced it. Usually you just ‘know’ who or what the presence is by their energy-field or their ’energy-signature’ or the departed show like a ‘film-clip’ from the past for you to remember and recognize … Or if it is ‘higher guidance’, it has been more like a ‘download’ or a brief trance channeling vision …
Other experiences of this ‘hearing names business’ since my experiences are of course limited?

Thought this video was from Cali, meaning California duh. But no, it was from Cali, Colombia where Jon Henrik originally came from and where the 16th United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity (COP16) biodiversity summit was held.
Did he create this song for the summit in effort to bring indigenous groups together (?); - in which case the fusion would make even more sense:

Is the old Saami man in the video Jon Henrik’s adoptive Swedish Saami father Jan?
Kinda happy-happy Jon Henrik was there, but it kinda breaks my heart and brings me to tears he grew up so far from his kin, yet the consolation is he could still keep his indigenous identity, which seems important to him.

Was hoping you Native spirit would have elaborated a bit more, why the chant you heard was important to you?

It does sound lovely and is also ‘right’ when the head and the heart come together; - when there is no ‘static interference’ (cognitive dissonance) on the line and you can just open your heart fully & mind trusts to let go all the way into the flow of the chant.
Good on you!
Unfortunately, this chant that got stuck in my head caused confusion with the fusion of its 3 elements: the Saami, the North Amerind and the Kundalini (?) - (who wear the white gear) yogic spirit name practices that I don’t understand.
https://www.spiritual-names.org/
Not that I understand the Amerind spirit names either:

So. No matter how much my heart enjoys the tune, the sentiment and the intention; - how much I do love the artist and his work & wished otherwise, - my head just jarred the process. Heh.
*Sigh*
Probably just my own disconnected state projected onto the chant …
There is always some reason one's attention gets caught on something.

Native spirit - I love chanting of any kind. Recently, after reading a book on Shamanism, I began listening to Shamanic music on my phone, with hypnotic drumming and deep voice chanting. After listening to this shamanic chanting for about a week, I became inspired to paint what I was feeling. The painting turned out to be something extremely different from anything I've ever painted before. I painted a very haunting green eyed, old, wrinkled shaman with burning sage and a lit candle. The painting is actually somewhat scary looking, but I put it up on the wall in my home just the same. My husband reminded me, "It's only scary if you make it that way." To me it shows growth as a painter to break out of subject matter that I would traditionally paint. All inspired by reading then listening to Shamanic chanting. I felt pulled into something spirited and more powerful than myself.

Hey Blackraven. Why don’t you post your painting. I would love to see it and I’m sure others would as well.
