I forgot! Thanks for the reminder. I added it to the recipe I posted above (and of course I added it my tincture when I made it 6 weeks ago). Black pepper helps the body absorb the ingredients in the turmeric. Without the pepper you are wee weeing into the wind.
Today I got all my eyedropper dark bottles out. One step closer.

Honestly I woudn't trust the powders. I figure I can't go wrong with fresh turmeric. My Etsy seller grows it in her garden. Pulls some per order. And Etsy has an abundance of it for sale. Love Etsy!

Bought some corriander powder some years back that appeared to be mostly sawdust-I am sure I have some tumeric growing in an indoor pot but it has done nothing for years ,still healthy but no movement, like a plastic plant.

Got some root today and just had the idea of grating it into a jar of probiotic cultured milk(the good probiotics are quite expensive so I tip a third of a capsule in a jar of milk and have about four sips a day)

Good thing to know & remember is that curcuma should not be taken with certain medicine.
So if you do take medicine, make sure to find out beforehand if you can safely take curcuma!
Anti-flammatory, cancer meds do not mix well with it and if memory serves blood thinning meds don't either.
And there may be many more.
People often underestimate the unbelievable power of herbs, roots and plants as we gotten so accustomed to thinking chemical meds are most powerful.
But as an example people with heart problems and meds cannot take hawthorn or foxglove.
People should then switch from one to the other with their cardiologist.
Some can get of chemical heart meds and take hawthorn stuff instead. It is that strong!
From what I've read Curcuma is also a very powerful herb.
Using it occasionally in the kitchen won't harm I think, but when using strong supplements it becomes a different ballgame.
