Yes. When we begin this journey all that we know are our thoughts. And these thoughts cause us endless trouble.

And our thoughts tell us a story about ourselves and our lives. What has happened, what should have happened, what should not have happened, who we should be, how other people should be.

We believe this story we tell ourselves, and so we suffer.

When all our thoughts are just passing things, arising out of nothing into our awareness and then disappearing back into nothing.

Who would we be without our story?

Peace

This i am trying to "figure" out, i've been through hell and back and i haven't budged to anything yet, bot that i know of.
Everyday is a new day, a new day comes with new things, today i am yelling away these thoughts. It is not that i yell them away, it's more like i am putting them in their rightful place, away from me.

And it works so far, i am very happy with my progress, however, the state where i am in right now never ends and i wish for it to end. I do not wish for a better tommorow, all i wish for is to please truth and all that comes with it.
However, when will i have the first taste of the fruit of happiness?

It is a contradiction i know, but it is hard to put into words, i wish better for myself but not enough to care, i only care about progress in truth, this is what i can conclude from me and my attitude towards all this we call life and reality

amen

This is the challenge we all face to one degree or another.

But if we can let go of our story, even the story of having been through hell and back, then we can simply be ourselves in this moment without the need for anything to be any different.

The difficulty is that we resist the reality of what is. We want it to be something different. And what we resist persists.

So you are in a particular state right now and you wish that state would end.
Does the state cause our suffering? Or do we suffer because we resist our state?

What might happen if you could just allow that state to be present for as long as it is present? This is the reality of what is.

As long as we resist the reality of what is present here and now then how can we taste the fruit of happiness?

Peace

Yes, you're speaking facts, this i know, but your words didn't do any magic here, i have to carry on dissolving this mess, i'm in good hands with me so don't worry.

I not arguing here, just being honest, i wish the best for me so i'm doing the best for me, maybe i'm blind, so be it. I'm just another unripe fruit at the moment it seems like, best wishes

Jim

Actually I don't expect my words to make any real difference.

We each have to work through whatever we have to work through.

Maybe occasionally we hear something which is exactly the right thing for us at exactly the right time.

And it can be helpful to sometimes be reminded of certain basic truths.

But usually words are just words.

And on a spiritual forum such as this then all we have are words.

Peace

Your words have hit me profoundly, could it be this simple was my first thought when i woke up this morning. After i applied it is just flows. Very freeing.
And IT might just be this simple, tremendous! I'm not resisting right now and everything just flows, i'm very thankful for your words.

However, i do not know what the day might bring but i sure hope it could be this simple all the time, i just want to say THANK YOU

Glad if I have said anything helpful. It sounds like you are in a good place.

So all this seems to be a story as you say, I wonder where this can go from here....

It was very sound advice, I'm happy you shared it. I will let it sit with me and I sit with it. I will remain true to it because it seems to dissolve a whole lot within me. Whatever happens next is because of you! Thank you

Late summer of 2019 I was watching a long-form video discussion on consciousness between Sadhguru and a neuroscientist. Of course the neuroscientist was coming at it from the perspective of neuroscience, and that is consciousness is an emergent phenomenon of the brain.

Then Sadhguru said it and it was something like "Open up a small space between mind and consciousness" and it struck like a lightning bolt.

It wasn't the power of Sadhguru or the words he spoke. It was what it pointed to that I was already experiencing in deep meditation and never fully understood/realized. It was a major shift in perspective and there's no going back.

As iamthat said, he said that I am the cause of my trouble, how freeing isn't that? I'm starting to wonder if it so, how wonderful! If I'm the source of my trouble then I am able to see that for myself, this is great food for me.

I can't thank you enough, so, my biggest thank I can give is to apply this and see for myself if it is so. I'll be on my inner way there, again, thank you
