John 6:53-56 ".. If you don't eat my flesh and drink my blood..." Here is the interpretation Beinsa Douno gives on this thought.
What Jesus Christ meant is: "If you do not eat the fruits of My love you will not enter the Kingdom of God." Christ' feelings and thoughts are the fruits which give life. If you understand it literally you are wrong. This verse in Hebrew has double meaning.

By the time the gospel recollection were written the new evolving Christian religion had merged with Mithraism and other Pagan ideas. Those were blended into the remembrance supper rituals.

Jesus says in that chapter, that the flesh profits nothing, but that it is the spirit that gives life. It seems he is making it clear that what matters most, is that we are living on his spirit. His spirit he makes clear in numerous occasions are his teachings. If we make his teachings our drink, and our food, then we will have life.

See what sin is...involving this organic aspect, and related to "The Survival Instinct", having to do with "Ego".
