How do buddhists keep negative energy out of their house
Does the religion have specific practices for addressing this situation ?

In predominate Buddhist countries, something you will see that is common is a Spirit House which is a house for deceased love ones that can visit and or reside in. If there is a problem, generally the goodies left behind for the spirits will be changed and in some cases upgraded.

Not inviting it in  would be a perfect solution but to try and answer your question, different Schools would address it differently, some are more superstitious than others..... |

I don't invite it in ~ but I was just slammed with a massive amount of it ~ I was standing in the kitchen and it slammed into my back ~ I felt it enter my body ~ my back has been hurting every since

I have seen Hayagriva in front of certain Buddhist Temples. Very powerful protector.
