What do you think about the amount of medication each user of modern drugs uses?

The people I know who take these are on 10-20-30 even 60 in some cases, looking into the meds some are taking some for far longer than recommended , so that have contraindications , then the side effects of each, sometimes extra meds are prescribed for side effects too, doing a google apparently many people take meds incorrectly, 50% -that cannot be right.

In the UK I think we have about fifty lottery numbers from which six are drawn, the odds of getting six for that combination are millions to one, so the GPs have more than fifty drugs to choose from, how on earth can millions of tests be done for the combinations that people take.

I don't think you will find exact numbers for people killed or harmed by pharmaceuticals, the bad prescribing and side effects etc suit the drug companies as the GPs rarely accept that ailments are due to their prescribing so prescribe more pills.

With natural products we have thousands of years of collected evidence re problems and benefits, when they start synthesising them new problems occur (and benefits)

I mainly use alternatives with fantastic results in many cases , although at the moment I have a few stubborn problems I am unable to shift so am attempting to get conventional help.

The conventionals I have used with good results over the years include anti-biotics and steroids , but look what bad prescribing has done to these, it has given them a bad name.

I wish to add one point though which I think is important, some people see it as conventional v alternatives when really the individual should be the boss and be able and not afraid to choose the best that is for them whether it be herbal, synthetic or whatever.

Very well said Busby. It is unfortunate that people can get side effects or have a bad experience. It does not help everyone. Medicine has saved many lives. Without medicine we would be living in the dark age where a lot of terrible things would happen. Drugs for cancer has saved a lot of people from dying and they are always looking for ways of better treatment. It cannot save everyone. Medicine is still being experimented on. They are hoping to find a cure for dementia, parkinson disease and other illnesses. Over use of drugs is a problem. It would likely be harder to fight off infections if you take too many drugs. I have had infections and without drugs I would get worse.
