What's more important who you are to others or who you are to yourself?

Hi everyone. I guess I was never the kind of person who cared what other people thought of me. I think who I am to myself is far more important than who I am to others. I'm the one who has to look at myself in that mirror everyday.
Any additional thoughts would be appreciated.

But aren't we here for each other and so I am not far more important though ego wants that. What does heart (gut) say?

Having the balance between the two would be my answer.

I used to be very shy so I would hide myself away. Nowadays I am comfortable with who I am and what I am
So I'm not bothered what people think of me
To me the answer would be I have Respect for myself and Respect for others

Like Red chic has said it is a Balance Between the two

How can one judge others, if one does not judge themselves?
One who does not judge themselves, their brain is in their throat and not the mind!
They speak only from the heart!

I used to have gossipy friends...and they would pass around things that simply were not true...
it was actually amazing that this was happening with adults.
I did notice how I actually didn't CARE.
Very spiritually mature of me, I'd say! LOL !!

I gotta say -''knowing'' what my Creator /God / heavenly Father/The All That Is thinks of me has changed my life...knowing
I am not just loved, the 'apple of His eye', but adored by this Spiritual Being, is the most imp thing for me.

When you know, experience in your being that this Magnificent Being loves you so much 'He' waits for you to wake up in the morning...
why would what others think matter in the least?

Do I know people here have no idea what I'm talking about...yeah.
But I know that one day everyone will.

Prepare yourself for the coming astral journey of death by daily riding in the balloon of God-perception.
Through delusion you are perceiving yourself as a bundle of flesh and bones, which at best is a nest of troubles.
Meditate unceasingly, that you may quickly behold yourself as the Infinite Essence, free from every form of misery. ~Paramahansa's Guru's Guru

It's GOT to be who you are to yourself , because you are the the one that has to live with you.
If you are happy in your own skin then you can radiate to others .

You have to be honest with yourself first, only then can other people understand you (better). If you first worry over who you are to others you risk being inauthentic.
