Feel sorry for people who suffer emotional trauma. Never had any. Take things in your stride.
'Gita' says happiness and sorrows are like seasons, they come and go. People should not get disturbed by them.

After many years, more like 2 decades of dealing with difficult memories (PTSD, depression and anxiety) I found a path of comfort. But it certainly won't appeal to majority of people and it took time to appear. It began to form organically after being physically for a few years. I left my scientific career, friends and family left me apart from my partner, and I began learning to draw and paint. Drawing and painting helped me re-centre and re-form. I am more content now.

I also found relief eliminating fragrances and some foods, which helped easing my anxiety (just a bit).

Re Faeryberry

So glad you have mentioned the benefits of learning to paint. I have taught painting to children, adults and even special needs people and have witnessed time and time again how it can have enormous therapeutic benefits especially in self confidence.

It’s been a wonderful experience to be part of the positive change in others!

Yes I do this spontaneous art flow practice. I work with paint, crayons and pens and sometimes do collage. I just let the colours do the work for me. I don't worry if I make a mess. I don't try to produce perfect "art". I simply aim to have fun with the colours.

I find this practice liberates the inner child and is very therapeutic.

This approach is similar to that practiced by the therapist and artist Alice Miller. I have her book, Pictures Of A Childhood, which is very inspirational.

You're welcome.

The book contains a chapter about childhood and creativity, together with 66 prints of her water colour paintings.

Hope you enjoy it.

Try Reiki healing. it will completely heal your emotional trauma within a few days if not hours.

Just thought I should mention a really good book called TOXIC PARENTS. For those who want to explore that kind of trauma. It’s brilliant.
