Static Rain

Yesterday i saw again what they call 'static rain'.It was a cloudy day,so there was no sunlight to 'bother' my eyes.
I was standing on my porch,looking at 100 meters away,at a dark parking place.
I pulled my vision back (at almost 50 meters),while my eyes were resting at the dark place.
The static rain appeared in my vision like a real rain,but different.Almost like an electric particle storm.

I've seen it some other times as well.Sometimes the rain is rainbow coloured,sometimes it has no colour.

I noticed this too. An interesting phenomenon.

I'm sure the effect can be recreated at home as well,if you can find a way to have the right amount of light and a dark corner.

It's likely intraocular, like phosphenes and other phenomena like "sky sprites" we see.

Yes, this is indeed a very interesting phenomenon. But you can notice it only when you are calm and in no hurry. In general, if at least sometimes even for a short time you stop flying somewhere at the speed of light and look at what is next to you, then you can find a lot of interesting and unusual things.
