'Gypsy Girl' at the moment.

The other two I read of this type was 'Girl in a painted caravan' and 'Gypsy Boy' all good reads, I think I also read the second one by the Gypsy Boy author.

I read farmer giles of Ham not too many years ago and it reminded me of The Hobbit.

reply to Squatchit.

I had trouble googling it even when I had that copy of the book so I knew its title and author then but it was still hard to find any of the stories.

I'm re-reading 'Ulysses' by James Joyce - it's both hard-going and brilliant. Funny in places, near-impenetrable in others.

I've got 'Finnegan's Wake' to come after that - I skimmed through a few pages, the prospect of reading it is a daunting one, let's just say

One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich, again. I'll be having my seniors read this novel next year, so I needed to reacquaint myself.

"And the *** saw the angel" - Nick Cave.

Very dark, very funny. About madness, difference, cruelty and religion.

Funny how a quote from the Bible (the title of the book) can be censored as offensive! The offending word means donkey.

I've finished the censored book now and today I started and finished a new one. - "The Screwtape Letters" - C. S. Lewis. Only a short book (hence my reading it in only a few hours) but very funny. A series of letters from one demon to another. A Christian undertone, but I'll forgive that.
