No that was Saint Patrick, I always thought the pied piper was Dutch ?

They used to trap English and German spies during the war by getting them to pronounce certain words, think squirrel was hard in both.(heard on Countdown)

Also confusing male and female names; Stevie Nicks,Lindsey Buckingham and Evelyn Waugh are three that initially got me.

Have a google from Susie Dents word origins from yesterdays countdown,I only catch the show when visiting but I find that section interesting,must see if I can get hold of any of her books,(the skips behind the charity shops beckon-well thumbed ones aplenty!)

LOL.... Rummaging in the skips... We just can't help ourselves can we ???
I've not seen countdown for years . I dont like Carol V.... Know it's not her fault, but I can't stand her .

She went long ago it's Rachel Riley now,Anne Robinson presented it for a while ,think they have guest presenters now.
