Why Anything at All?

Why are we here? Why is there a world, a cosmos, something-instead of absolutely nothing at all? Of all the big questions, this is the biggest. Why? What can we learn from "nothing"? Featuring interviews with John Leslie, Bede Rundle, Max Tegmark, Simon Blackburn, Quentin Smith, Victor Stenger, Peter van Inwagen, John Polkinghorne, Richard Swinburne, and Paul Davies.

Season 12, Episode 13 - #CloserToTruth

There may be a clue about why, if we instead ask how are we here?

Science apparently currently says that there is mainly nothing inside an atom (like two flies inside the emptyness of a Cathedral). Is this void with bits manifested by some sort of entity which has the capacity to appear something from mainly nothing? If so that suggests that we are here by the design of that entity. Or, alternatively, does the manifestation have an inbuilt automatic operating mechanism that constructs/creates and maintains the manifestation which does not require some sort of entity.

If either of these choices are the case, we have at least narrowed it down to two 0ptions , but perhaps you have others:)

I'm on board with option 5, however I have absolutely no clue what the true nature of consciousness is in all its grandeur aside from I'm convinced it's what I am at the deepest core of being, as are all of us and all of existence.

Hi there... You thread called "why anything at all " .... But I would say "why anything , full stop".....But the fact that there is "anything" means we exist and therefore we "are". The ryhme and reason as to why we are is irrelevent. It really is. All becomes apparent in time. But what I do know is that there are other motives. This is not the beginning and the end... This is just the beginning...

Maybe the thought that nothing existed until you were born should be a valid starting point.
