Transforming teaching-learning process: helping teachers to increase performance
What is this unit about?
In an ideal world, all students will get good learning benefits every year, for which they will get help from the teachers who know about the latest principles of education, who will be aware of the ways to apply these principles to the different needs of every student. . Teachers will be able to do this work with the resources provided by the school and that too when whatever else is happening in their life.

However, we do not live in an ideal world. Teachers are also human beings who sometimes do not display their work excellently, if they know this, then they may need little help to improve - but the problem occurs when the teacher does not know that they can do better and the learning process of the students is relaxing. This is a sensitive issue that needs to be handled carefully, but it is part of the role and responsibility of a good school leader.

In this unit you will learn how to gather evidence about teacher work and explore some concepts to improve it using planning-supported development activities. Your teachers are the biggest determinants of student achievement and therefore your influence in encouraging teacher work will directly affect students' learning and results. As a school leader you can enable teachers to be more effective by helping them to improve their performance.
Learning diary
While working in this unit you will be asked to make notes in your learning diary. This diary is a book or folder where you collect your thoughts and plans. You have probably started your diary.

In this unit you can work alone, but if you can discuss your learning with another school leader you will learn more. This could be a colleague with whom you have already collaborated, or someone with whom you can build a new relationship. This can be done in a planned manner or on a more informal basis. The notes you make in your learning diary will be useful for these types of meetings, and will also map your long-term learning and development.

What school leaders can learn from this unit?
To assess the teacher's work.
To plan to improve the work of teachers individually.
Some ideas on how to have constructive meetings with teachers about performance.
Some concepts useful in maintaining the performance of teachers.
