An entity is a fragment of energy that is a remnant of the astral body that disassociates and disconects itself from the physical body when death occurs.

Upon the death of our physical body, our astral body gets scattered and our spirit goes on to the light. When this happens the fragments don’t disappear, instead they search for hosts (bodies) to feed on so that it can continue living so to speak. If your etheric or auric field is weak then you are more subseptable to entity attachments.

Entities will inhabit humans if the psyche of that person is in resonance with its psyche. For example the astral fragment of a alcoholic will attach itself to someone who likes to drink. Entities also inhabit homes, dark dirty places, derelect buildings, hospitals and funeral homes feeding on the etheric of the property or building until it can find a host body to feed on.

If you are healthy, positive and mentally stable it will be difficult for entities to come in and attach themselves to you because your energetic structure is strong, however if you are feeling sad, mentally unstable, fearful and weak (or you are in a hospital or in a funeral parlor) then it is a possibility that an entity may try to come in.

Many people have entities for decades and they don’t even know it and many people live their lives unknowingly effected by them however it is not the end of the world.

Entities are parasites on your energetic body and will make you feel a heavy increase of negative emotions and feelings within oneself. There can also be a karmic component to why one may attract an entity but it is advised that one not think to literally about such matters. Negative personality traits may become highlighted to a degree beyond management, promoting negative aspects to rise to the surface of self to be cleared out and healed from, yes entities do have a purpose too.

In a spiritual sense entities are a catalyst to help us become aware of what in us they are leaching on before we have them removed. This removal process instigates spiritual development and growth.

I know we are all positing different ideas here, so please don`t be offended if I take a moment to disagree with the above from the perspective of my belief system.
When we die, in my belief system, most people pass over to the Astral plane, in order to operate there, the essence of `us` moves from the physical form into the astral form, where we live for 50-60 years before reincarnating again. We have several etheric bodies, which are available to us for use on the various planes we can move up to as our consciousness develops. So (in my way of seeing things anyway) our astral body cant scatter after the physical death, as its required for the Astral plane.

Peteyzen - It is my belief that these reminents of the astral body break off of the astral body as we evolve, accept, forgive and clear away karma and parts of our spirit self connected to our physical self, kind of like shedding away the layers of the astral bodies from our most recent incarnation before we cross over into the spirit world.

I too believe that many spirits choose to reside in the astral realm for many years often waiting for loved ones or to watch over loved ones closely before they cross over into the spirit world together.
