I wonder if anyone here has any thoughts on intercessory prayers?

I have noticed this before - that a number of people have said praying to Jesus had had no effect for them, but there was however a response from angels and loved ones.

So it would seem they are more approachable for intercession before God, than in some cases praying to Jesus perhaps? This also might be why some people consider prayers to Mary as effective as well, as some see her as a mediatrix?

What I'm trying to get my head around is whether Jesus is so elevated in status that we can't pray to him for individual affairs but we can to loved ones, angels and Mary? If that is true, then maybe we need a re-think on the way people pray?

Why is a Mediator necessary ?

“In that day you will ask in my name, and I do not say to you that I will ask the Father on your behalf; for the Father himself loves you, because you have loved me and have believed that I came from God.” (John 16:26–27).

I don't know if one is or isn't necessary. I just understand from my own experience as well as reading about miracles, healings, answered prayers, that angels, loved ones, Mary, Jesus have helped.

I don't doubt that Jesus helps people in their prayers when asked, but it is also my experience that angels, loved ones in spirit, hear us and answer the call also - sometimes more than Jesus. But who is to say Jesus isn't listening? I know also first hand that my spiritual journey began with seeing a vivid image of Jesus, despite not being religious or spiritual at the time. So his input was what initiated this process, even if he doesn't appear to be actively involved throughout the process and the rest of the journey.
