I have had legal hearing where the other party will use acronyms even after I tell them not to use them. My reason is: I don't know what they are talking about.
One party was insistent on using them. Then, I began using acronyms used in their own documents and they had no idea what I was talking about.
They got the message and then the Judge chastised them for their rudeness.

Actually I can just picture that.
Yeah I agree Miss H……some people do live in a world of academia and are not aware of the affect their words are having on others. That’s why I feel having a high Emotional IQ is probably more helpful and beneficial than the usual IQ. (See book by Daniel Goldman).
However there are many who do it purposefully for reasons I’ve just stated.
