I don't see it as a church problem, more like a human problem. As far as churches I think they should make all priests, bishops, ministers, and popes married and single females. Scandals would pretty much stop I think.

Well making them sounds a bit drastic. But letting priests marry does seem to work. Protestant churches allow that and are, as far as I can remember, practically scandal free.

Won't stop scandals. Many scandals exist within marriages.

People who wish to dedicate their life to spiritual pursuit are right to choose celibacy. Sex, marriage, and breeding are very worldly things.

1 Tim 3:2 says "A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife,"
I think this is self evident. They can marry.
So who were the ones that negated this?

If that requirement was required when Christianity began spreading: would it have spread?

When Saul got converted: did he have to go somewhere to 'learn' or did he shortly aferwards become an Apostle?

Maybe there was a shortage of Christian seminaries at that time…..:)

..... and then you look at the other 13 Apostles:

it doesn't seem any of them went to Christian seminaries. But then, it could have been because there were no Christian seminaries at that time.

Likely those that were serious about spiritual practice..

Doing spirituality, a job, a partner and kids, hobbies, holidays etc. all together makes one a ''Jack of All Trades, Master of None''.

Becoming a specialist requires sacrifice.

Without a specialist you get a 6/10, not a 10/10.

If admin's are ok with this, I'll probably repeat this message a time or two again 'as it's important' to church survival 'sharing ideas' - and wow 40,000 views - powerful forum...

I designed an image about 5 years ago of our church with a modern train on it, saying come visit Macclesfield for the day - visit our URC Church and then have lunch at Wetherspoons across the road.

Well I put this message with the photo on our FB Church Regeneration Project today... And if any of you church people looking on SF's right now are thinking God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit aren't looking on this thread daily - think again...

Make it happen in your church everyone - The Church Revival Project of 2024 - make it happen 'in your town' all the info is on here, smiles / not too long services etc etc - so people enjoy, and return.

Message on my/our group......

Just putting this on here - I was sent a dream by God and Angel's last night that Macc Chat moved into the building next to our church - God's Mysterious Ways, I woke up Angel Sparkles, and gentle Roar of God I get sometimes - thinking great idea, who's Macc Chat, and of course it's a group I'm on - never thought before to put this on there...

I designed it years ago for church to put in mags, we never did - but I can put it on local groups, good service last Sun, and just 50 mins with a baby baptism included - service was 👍

Out with new healing group flyers today to shops, have a good day all.

Good answer.
I would have given a Men in Power answer not wanting the Church to pay for offspring!

Prepare yourself for the coming astral journey of death by daily riding in the balloon of God-perception.
Through delusion you are perceiving yourself as a bundle of flesh and bones, which at best is a nest of troubles.
Meditate unceasingly, that you may quickly behold yourself as the Infinite Essence, free from every form of misery. ~Paramahansa's Guru's Guru
