Interesting topic. The crucial points it seems to me are AI's ability to replicate itself, robots building robots, under their own volitional will power. Robots developing a survival mechanism, a kind of ego or some aspect of the human ego. You can put parameters into AI creations till the cows come home and it's clever and super clever tbh but it is still not volitional intention, imo, no matter how long the chain of command is or camoflauged with such things as bodily form etc. is it true volition ? But it is very interesting because as the attempt to create an independent robot arises so too are insights into our own functioning uncovered and highlighted, so it seems at least. :)
