Calming classical corner ....

Hi, and as suggested, the most beautiful , soothing, calming, relaxing music that exists on the plant ....
Or at least in my mind and my ears.

I suffer terribly from insomnia.
Hours and hours just laid there allowing my mind to think about all the bad things in the world and the problems I personally have in life.

I could not live like that any more , so I introduced myself to soothing music through my phone and earphones during the long waking night hours.
I never felt alone anymore.
I had company . But more than that , it allowed my mind to stop thinking awful thoughts and stay focused on the beauty of the music...

We all need the beauty of the music in our lives at some point.
We all need to feel peace , serenity and calm.

Which is why I'm setting this thread up.
But I can't do it alone.

My partner in crime is our lovely forum friend "Podshell".

I know what I want to let you hear but I can't download the tunes.
Podshell knows how to do it but has to do it at the library.
So it goes to show , with teamwork , anything is possible .

We might call this our own "podcast" ... Heehee, get it ???
LOL....

So here goes....

The first tune that I would like to highlight is a piano piece that I absolutely love.
It is by 68 year old Ludovico Einaudi , an Italian pianist and composer .
It's his birthday on Saturday (23rd) so seems appropriate I highlight in honour of his birthday.

The tune is called "I Giorni" and is really magical.
Speaking of magical my little music elf might create some magic and download, but if it's not possible then it can easily be looked up on Google.
It's just gorgeous.

..Equally beautiful is "Gabriel's oboe" , written by Ennio Morricone, and is the theme tune for the film "the mission" released in 1986.

I like the version by Henrik Goldschmidt, but all are lovely.

And my final offering for today is special.

"The armed man " by Welsh composer Karl Jenkins, one of the most famous living composers in the world.

This piece was commissioned by the Royal Amouries in London for the millennium and ahead of the Amouries move to Leeds in 1999.

( I lived in Leeds and the new Amouries was only down the road from me ).

It was dedicated to the victims of the Kosovo crisis.

It's very beautiful.
Starts off gorgeous and just gets better and better.

I know this type of music is not for everyone , but for those of us that love the beauty and relaxation I hope one or two of you will benefit from listening like I do..

Also...
I would like any of you to post your own calming moments in music so that I , and others , may benefit from yours ..

You can also do searches for types of music that help certain health conditions.

Not sure if you have a DAB radio but there are a few classic stations on there.

I am disappointed there are no stations dedicated to English or other folk music as there are plenty for American Country and Asian Music.

You would think wouldn't you, in this day and age that you could cover all genres of music on radio.

I listen to classic FM all night long.
I'm lucky that it's on 24/7 so whenever I have hours of insomnia I can listen to it , and it helps Immensely with my sleep problems.
