I don't know why anyone would ask if people are comfortable with the custom...unless they aren't ? I don't think anyone is out there insisting they must also use that spelling.

When I see G-d or God written in text, I almost always replace it with how the word was pronounced 'sort of' in Hebrew, and that is Elohim.

In Genesis 1:1, that scriptures reads as: "In the beginning, God [Elohim] created the Heaven[s] and Earth."
