The boss had asked his employees to work on weekends ( Knight of swords, cause ) this caused fear , anxiety and a lot of pressure in the work place for everyone to meet the deadlines and keep their jobs ( 8 of wands, effect )

His compassion and trust towards his brother in business ( king of wands, cause ) had resulted in breach of trust by family and cost him his professional repute ( two of swords )

Too much partying left Bob feeling burnt out wanting to just spend time alone and completely withdrawing from any social activities.

Going to a drink's night after work meant that Jane couldn't cope with the demands of work the next day (poor Jane).
