I'd certainly not put clusters in salt as then there's too many angles etc. where salt can sneak in.
A swiffer can be handy to dust those for sure!
Another thing that could come in handy is a brush, like the ones you'd use for painting (on canvas). These can be very cheap, come in various types and tend to be very soft but still enough umph to brush dust out of a cluster or geode.
Certainly a good option with more delicate clusters as sometimes a swiffer can catch. I wouldn't use a swiffer on -for instance- my blue barite cluster as that's quite delicate but I wouldn't shy away from gently & carefully using a paint brush on that :)
I am an artist (painter) so I do have quite the choice of brushes, hihi. But even in something like the dollar store you should be able to find them for a few cents, they needn't be the expensive ones. A good regular 2" brush can also be great btw!
